It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen J Spurgin of Weatherford, Texas, born in Snyder, Texas, who passed away on June 7, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Nail and Tennye Woody Nail; her brother Robert Nail; and her former husband Hal Holladay of Snyder. She is survived by: her husband Eddie Spurgin of McKinney; her sons, Kirk Holladay of Fort Myers, FL, Brent Holladay (Teresa) of Fort Worth and Dusty Spurgin (Tammy) of Weatherford; her sister Glenda Shaw of Grand Prairie; her grandchildren, Douglas Holladay, Collin Holladay, Lauren Elliot (Grant), Owen Holladay (Alea) and Daniel Holladay; and her great grandchild Weston Holladay. She is also survived by family members, friends, including her many cats.
Karen also enjoyed researching family history and she and her siblings and cousins began organizing a Nail family reunion that carried on annually for many years until the Pandemic.
