She was predeceased by: her father Herschel Watson; her husband Harlan Tray Whitworth; and her brother Donald Glen Watson. She is survived by: her daughters, Brandy Murphy (Judd) and Kara Harris (Joe); her granddaughters, Preslee Murphy and Ella Harris; her mother Johnetta Lee Watson (Young); and her sister LaDonna Tidwell (Ricky). She is also survived by family members and friends.

The family suggests memorials be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in memory of Dorinda Whitworth.
