Bernard Lankford Jr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernard Lankford Jr. (Weatherford, Texas), born in Dallas, Texas, who passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena Bollman Lankford and Buford Bernard Lankford, Sr.; his sons, Chester and Richard; his brother Douglas Lankford; his grandsons, Bo Seibert and Samuel Meyer; and his brother-in-law Thurman Blackburn.

He is survived by: his wife Bette; his children, Penni Watters, Lankford III (Szilvia), Polly Meyer (Mike Autin), Layna Olszewski (Matt) and Allison Mobley; his sister Dinah Blackburn; his grandchildren, Austin Seibert (Shanna Lucas), Stephanie Williams (Brandon), Mackenzie Feaster (Justin), Bailey Hill (Shelton), Brett Lankford, Marta Lankford, Nicholas Wallace, Betsy Meyer, Sydney Walling (Rio), Garrett Kaiser (Victoria), Kelby Kaiser and Catherine Kaiser; his great grandchildren, Greer, Brynley, Adalyn, Hayes, Finley, Flora, Rio Jr., Roland and Rosie; his mother-in-law Frances Rathweg; and his sisters-in-law, Dr. Linda Couch (John Chesser) and Shirley Stowe (Robert Stowe). He is also survived by nephews and nieces.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the First Methodist Church (301 S Main St, Weatherford, TX 76086). A reception was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Church's Family Life Center.
