He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Fenton Wicker and Willie Thomas Wicker; and his brothers, Ralph Thomas Wicker and Richard Fenton Wicker, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Nella Harris Wicker; and his children, Nella Carolyn, William Walter, Jr. (Beverly) and Deborah Lynne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sims Public Library or First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie.
