He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia "Virgie" Johnson and John Johnson; his children, Tim and Barbara; and his wife Jane Ann Arther.
He is survived by: his former wife Lula Blackmon of Virginia; his children, Berry, Rick (Leatta), Lisa and Tommy (Vera); and his granddaughter Lisa (George). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
