He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Willie Marvin and Frances Burt Gibson; his wife Ruth; his daughters, Nicole Gibson Bishop (Dean) and Stephanie Gibson Taylor (Brian); his grandchildren, Zachary Bishop, Matthew Bishop, Luke Bishop, Megan Taylor and William Taylor; his stepdaughter Shelby Loper (Scott); his pet Lucy; and also, Peyton Adkins, Collin Johansen, Caitlyn Johansen, Kaity Games, Carly Loper, Cameryn Loper and Caris Loper.
In 2016 he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.
