He is survived by: his parents, Jose Isabel Castillo and Juana Hernandez; his children, Belinda Zapata, Vicki Lazo, Victor Zapata and Nate Garza Sr.; and his brothers, Maximo Castillo, Juan Castillo and Geronimo Hernandez. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
