He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Joseph and Ann Frances Melin (Manak); and his brother Sam Melin. He is survived by: his son Skyler (S. Army); his wife Kim; his daughter Stormee; and his siblings, Carl Melin, Theresa Smith (Chuck), Janie Bowling (George), Mary Hullett and Henry Melin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
