June Evelyn Summerall Obituary
June Summerall
Red Headed June Evelyn Summerall, born in Houston, Texas on
June 30, 1930, passed away bravely on September 5, 2022. She was
surrounded by her immediate family at the end, laughed and joked
with the doctors and nurses who cared for her, and made her final
decisions in a positive and clear voice.
June was very proud of her four children: Debbie Fain (Wes), Del
Wardrum (Ken), Diana Melcher (Jeff), and John David (JD) Summerall
(Glenda). June is survived by her sister Loretta Anderson (Allen) and her
brother Harold (Buddy) Stickel (Frances). She was close to her ten
grandchildren, and loved to brag on her great-grandchildren.
June was a self taught cook, and fed many
friends, family, and neighbors throughout her long life. She
loved animals (especially strays) and never allowed any human or
animal friend to go hungry.
June accepted many people into her life – differences in race,
creed, color, or religion only added variety and spice into her life.
She talked to God every morning, walked everywhere, read a book
every day, and continued to look forward to the good things ahead in
life.
She is at peace now.
