He is survived by: his wife Colleen Parker; his children, Amy Jane (Dean Howard), James Anderson (Tracy Parker) and Travis Rex Parker; his grandchildren, Parker Bayro, Vivian Howrd, Lincoln Parker and Elizabeth Parker; his brothers, Johnson (Rhea Smith) and Jerry "Zeb" (Gracie Smith); his cousins, Sam (Malta Akins) and Lance Griggs; his sister-in-law Patricia Munday; and his friend Bobby Sherman. He is also survived by his family and many friends.

“I’m so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. My three sisters and I met Joe in 1967 when we entered the United Presbyterian Home. He was a little older, so he was considered one of the “big kids”. I have many memories of Joe lifeguarding at the pool and teaching swimming/lifeguard lessons. Colleen, may you all have peace and comfort as you cherish the many wonderful memories shared with Joe.
