He was predeceased by: his wife Teddy Jane Wheatley; his parents, Edward Carpenter and Christine Johnson; his in-laws, Lovedia Viola Holland and Lucius Wheatley; his sister Betty Thompson; and his brother-in-law Robert Morris.
He is survived by: his son Tony; his family Christian; his daughter Toni Mulvany (Steve) of Maypearl; his grandchildren, Amanda Drake (James), Erik Harmon (Kaylee), Kourtney Hodge, Ty Carpenter, Cole Carpenter, Aubree Carpenter and Tate Carpenter; his great grandchildren, Brookelyn, Kennedy Drake, Krew Hodge and Kize Harmon; his siblings, Larry Carpenter (Pam) and Sue Morris; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Wheatley (Linda) and Brenda Appleton (Ronald). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Even with advanced Alzheimer's and Parkinson's he continued touching many lives until his final breath.
