She was predeceased by: her parent Charlie Newberry Braswell; her siblings, Lucy B. Page and George Edison Braswell; and her former husbands, James Norwood Berry and James Elma Carawan.
She is survived by: her parent Bessie Ross Braswell; her children, Norma K. Berry, James Woolard of Washington, Retha Berry Jefferson, William Cleary of Bath and James Dennis Berry (Kathy) of Ijamsville, MD; her sister Evon O'Brien of Virginia Beach, VA; her niece Evelyn Cutler of Washington; her grandchildren, Nicole Berry Minnick (Jeremy), Jacqualine Berry, Daniel Erb of Ijamsville, MD, Ashley Jefferson Edwards (Christopher) of Bath, Allysen J. Berry and Michael Smith of Grimesland; and her great grandchildren, Addison Minnick and Michael Atticus Smith.
