He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gray Woolard and Sallie "Annie" Roberson Woolard; his daughter Thelma Ann Woolard; and his siblings, Richard Woolard, Ervin Woolard, Mildred Woolard and Lillie Bell Woolard.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Carl Gurganus, Gregory Gurganus, Brandon Gurganus, William Gurganus, Daniel Woolard and Josh Hardy; his spouse Shirley Marie Woolard; and his daughters, Juanita Gurganus (Kelly) of Washington, Sylvia Gurganus (Earl) of Bath, Emiley Stearns (Kevin) of Bath and Donna Woolard of Washington. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
