He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar L. Steele and Myrna "Arnold" Steele; his son-in-law John Lane Kettler; his niece Laura Schilling; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Schilling and Trish Borgstedte.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Helen; his daughters, Lisa Kettler and Cindy Walkoviak (John); his grandchildren, John Ross (Laramie Kettler), Elizabeth Kettler and Christopher Walkoviak; his sister Judy Stoneham (John); and his siblings-in-law, Terri Schilling, Dale Borgstedte and Ted Borgstedte (Linda). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Friedens UCC Church in Washington, TX.
