She was predeceased by: her parents, George Wesley and Fannie Tergerson Cook (John Max Adams Sr.); and her siblings, Rudolph, Neilan, Leon, G. W. Cook, Fayrene Youngblood, Hazel Wyatt and Sue Olsowski.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Talbert (George) of Lumberton, Paula Hinson (Randy) of Village Mills, Darla Scarborough (Rick) of Lumberton and John Max Adams Jr. (Lori) of Chandler; her brother-in-law Jerald Adams (Mary Nell) of Warren; and her grandchildren, Bonnie Talbert, Bryan Gaspard, Keith Talbert, Blake Hinson, Kacie Quebodeaux and Holly Baker. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
