She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Mae Higginbotham and Elder Chappell; and her siblings, Zelma Flemings, Louise Kinnaird, Bessie Norwood, Gloria Fay Burleson, Manuel and William Rudolph Chappell.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Craig (Dennis) of Lumberton, Crystal McGee of Vidor, John McGee of Warren, Tommy McGee (Amber) of Hemphill and Jessie McGee of Pineland; and her siblings, Lillie Folks (Gary) of Conroe and Donice Chappell of Lufkin. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
