Josephine Zamarripa Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Josephine Zamarripa of Wall, Texas, who passed away on May 2, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Guillermo Ortega Zamarripa; her daughter Cathy; her parents, Ignacio Moreno and Salomé Treviño; her brothers, Pete and Ignacio Moreno; and her son-in-law William Madison Campbell.

She is survived by: her brother John; her children, Guadalupe, Yolanda (Ronald Linehan), Armando (Socorro Zamarripa), Ana Zamarripa Campbell, Hermelinda Zamarripa (Charles Roeckle), Gloria Zamarripa (Pete Cortez), Mario (Jennie Zamarripa), Mary Grace (Rene Acuña), Barbara Zamarripa (Bill Schneider), Geralyn Zamarripa, Carol (José Diaz), William Zamarripa and John Zamarripa; her sister Dora Ortiz; and also Jesse Ortiz. She is also survived by thirteen children and seventeen grandchildren.

Due to pandemic protocols, the number of attendees will be restricted at all services held at Mission Funeral Home, St. Austin Catholic Church, and Assumption Cemetery. Attendees will also be required to wear a mask.

Her battle with dementia, and later Alzheimer's, prevented her from living in the present, but she always knew her adult children were there to love, care for, and protect her.
