He is survived by: his wife Maria Cantú; his children, Mary Jane Cantú, Armando Cantú, Jr. (Monica Ruiz) and Erika Lynn Cantú (Paul Martinez); his grandchildren, Armando Cantú III (Brendann Herrera), Sydney Cantú, Joe Robert Cantú (Deya Gutierrez), Linsey Cantú, Patrick Roger Cantú, Madalynn Benitez (Uriel Ahumada), Bella Rose Benitez, Angel Noel Martinez, Adriana Martinez, Juliana Martinez and John Paul Martinez; his great grandchildren, Armando Cantú IV, Matteo Cantú, Leo Ahumada and Layla Ahumada; his sister Yolanda Diaz (Jose); his great-nephew Larry Vega III; his nieces and nephews, Joe Diaz (Maribel, family: Roger Diaz, Anna Diaz) and Treviño; and also Hermalinda Diaz (Marcos Perez, family: Esmerelda Diaz). He is also survived by extended family with numerous nieces, nephews, brothers.
