He was predeceased by: his parents, Olivia Rucker Mills and Coke Mills; and his sisters, Anne Underwood, Emily McKelvain and Margaret McDaniel.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Rose Mills; and his son Richard Coke Mills, III. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
