He is survived by: his sons, Andy (Laura Leigh), Dana Mathis (late Phil Mathis), John (Tina) and Jay (Lydia); and his great grandchildren, Sarah Mathis, Stephen Mathis, Jarrod Mathis, Micah Mathis, Tyler Mathis, Lawrie Bomar (Jonathan), Karena Mathis, Annie Elequin (Nathan), Emma Spradley (Jeff), Grace Pittman (Collin), Matthew Mathis, Elizabeth Mathis, Eleanor, Emery, Jack Bomar and Eden Spradley.

Memorials may be made to CareNet Pregnancy Center, Shepherd's Heart Food Pantry and the Alzheimer's Association.
