He was predeceased by: his parents, James Otis and Verna Lee Hilliard (Barnes); and his brother Charles R. Hilliard. He is survived by: his significant other Linda Steele of Bremond, Texas; his son James Leonard Hilliard (Antoinette) of Stephenville, Texas; and his grandchildren, Angelina, Kaylan and Anthony. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
