She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Gay Shaw and Viola Lee Ethridge Shaw; her husband Harlan Jerome Shermer; and her siblings, Marcus, Robert, Cecil, Betty, David Ross, Philip, Nelda and Jackie Paul.
She is survived by: her children, Halena Hellums (Jon "Moe") of Deer Park, Texas and Heath Brian "Pee-Wee" Shermer of Riesel, Texas.; her grandsons, Jacob Hellums (Caisey) of Baytown and Austin Shilling-Shermer of Augusta, Georgia.; and her siblings, Billy Shaw (Deanie) of Riesel, Texas and Pamela Shaw Garrison of Waco, Texas. She is also survived by children, remarkable grandsons, loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's a charity organization she has faithfully supported for many years.
