He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Mejia and Manuela Mejia; his siblings, Juanita Rangel, Mattie Mejia, Jo Dean, Pete, Jesse, Francisco, Tony and Mickey Mejia; his nephew Pete R. Mejia; and his niece Patricia Lopez.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Andrew Mejia (Ashley) of Houston, TX and Jessica Mejia McAdoo (Tim) of McGregor, TX; his grandchildren, Dorothy James Mejia, Miranda Jane McAdoo, Penelope Faye Mejia and James Ross McAdoo; his brother-in-law Larry Dean of Los Angeles, CA; and his friend Frank.
