He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Evelyn Hill and Bill Hill; his wife Mary Ann Shotwell; his daughters, Shari Vickery (Ronnie) and Amy Chapman (Matt); his grandchildren, Matthew Small, Allison Small, Jason Small, Jake Chapman (Austin) and Brooke Chapman; his sister Laraine Yates; his niece Sandi Yates Moreau; and his nephew Tim Yates.

A memorial service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Waco (500 Webster Ave, Waco, TX 76706). A reception was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
