He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Smith and Dollie Smith; and his sisters, Gloria L. Birch and Vivian O. Smith. He is survived by: his siblings, Preston G. Smith (Charlene) of Montrose, IA and Devonna Williams of Vidor, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
