She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Lewis Dyson, Jr.; her parents, Lee Neel and Aby Mc Neel; and her brother Lee "Sonny" McNeel. She is survived by: her children, Robert Dyson, III (Melody) of Dallas, Jack Louis Dyson (Dhennel) of Paia, HI. and Rhonda Dyson Loden (James) of Vidor; her siblings, Glenn McNeel (Nell) of Port Neches, TX., Hilda McNeel Diehl of Tenaha, TX., Linda McNeel Leger (Everett) of Lumberton and Earline McNeel McCormick of Atlanta, GA.; her grandchildren, Alex Dyson (Hannah) of Levin Dyson, J. D, Dustin Loden (Rachel), Samantha Loden Jackson (Dustin) and Casey Dyson; and her great grandchildren, Donovan Bloomer, Gwen Bloomer, Bella Loden, Easton Jackson, Case Ray Jackson, Levi Jackson, Aubree Loden and Evan Loden.
The family wishes for donations made in Velma's honor to go to M. D. Anderson Cancer Research.
