He is survived by: his mother Juanita Cardenas of Lavon, TX.; his sons, Eric Benfield of Laurinburg, NC., Derick Benfield of Laurinburg, NC. and Asa Cardenas of Nederland; his siblings, David Cardenas of Beaumont, Helen Ford (Kenneth) of Lavon, Sallie Myers of Beaumont and Alice Cardenas of Beaumont; and his grandchildren, Kenlee and Gauge Benfield.
