He is survived by: his wife Tere Oates of Albuquerque, NM; his children, Rex Oates Jr. (Natalie) of Edmond, OK and Jennifer Morrill of Spring Branch, TX.; and his siblings, O'Clair Vaughn (Buddy) of Vidor, Ruth Sanders (Kenny) of Shreveport, LA and Rankin Oates (Donna) of Dallas, TX.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
