He was predeceased by: his parents, Leta Mae Scott and Edward Capps (Frank); and his stepdaughter Katherine Carrington. He is survived by: his wife K. Jane Stanley Capps; his brother Ken Capps (Connie) of Dallas; his children, Rachael Klemm of San Antonio, Stephen Capps (Shelby) of Houston, David Capps of Bryan, Michael Capps of Bryan and Benjamin Capps (Megan) of Dallas; and his stepchildren, David Lafley (Tanya) of Vidor, Michael Lafley of Orange, Martha Daughtry of Silsbee and Janie McCabe of Vidor. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A reception was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Broussard's Mortuary (1605 N Major Dr, Beaumont, TX 77713).
