He is survived by: his children, David Collins Sr. (Kathy) of Vidor, TX, Rickie Collins (Sammie) of Vidor, TX, Pamela Cole (Ronnie) of Vidor, TX, Debbie Jones (Roger) of Kirbyville, TX, Judy Collins Garcia of Vidor, TX, Martha Collins Williams of Vidor, TX, Daniel Collins (Mindy) of Vidor, TX and Janice Collins Wood (Mike) of Vidor, TX.; his sister Ettie Bernice Reed of Pasadena, TX; his wife Effie "Gene" Collins; his grandsons, Kenneth Dean Collins and Aaron Zachary Garcia; and his great grandchild Kira Elaine Watson. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 34 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor (1750 TX-12, Vidor, TX 77662). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Restlawn Memorial Park (2725 N Main St, Vidor, TX 77662).
