He was predeceased by: his wife Nelda Brodnax Eaves; his daughter Brenda Gail Eaves; and his great grandchild Landon Jake Eastwood. He is survived by: his siblings, Norman Eaves, Wilbur "Coon" Eaves of David, Melvin Ray Eaves, Robert "Mickey" Eaves, Ronald Eaves and Lynette King; his children, James Jr. (Sherry Eaves), Twala Miller (Joey Miller), Larry Mitchell (Connie Eaves) and Sharla Hagler (Glynn Hagler); his grandchildren, Sadee (Cade Anthony), Candace (Cory Thompson), Michelle Miller, Mason (Cindy Miller), Breanna Eaves, Mathan (Kyla Eastwood), Shanice (Nick Albrecht) and Clarissa Hagler (Tyler Hagler); his great grandchildren, Jackson Thompson, Ava Miller, Grant Thompson, Logan, Drake Eastwood and Wade Anthony; and his brother Russell Eaves.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites their friends and family to make donations for cemetery maintenance funds.
