He was predeceased by: his parents, Phylander "Phyly" Sylvester and Evelyn Faye Owen Adams; his former wife Peggy M. Adams; his sister Mary Louise Tipton; and his brother-in-law Millard Tipton.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn D. Adams of Vidor, TX; his children, Stephen Adams (Tammy) of Vidor, TX, Roxann Soto (Hector) of Kingwood, TX and Debbie K. Palir (John, III) of Lake Charles, LA; his grandchildren, John Palir, IV (Katie), Carmen Marie Palir, Kent Michael Palir (Amber), Aaron Stephen Adams (Camille), Brittany Lynn Brister (Justice), Mark Allen Adams, Kristine Johnson (Jordan), Andrew Soto (Dena) and Chloe Soto; and his great grandchildren, Jayden Broussard, Skyler Benglis, Grant Owen Adams, Clark Everett Brister and Ella Jones.
