He was predeceased by: his parents, Abner Walter Rutledge Sr. and Emma Jean Ward; and his brother Abner Walter Rutledge Jr.. He is survived by: his children, David Wayne Rutledge Jr. and Athena Shettlesworth (Ronnie); his sister Rebecca Sue Bridges (Joe); and his grandchildren, Ronald Shettlesworth (Kaitlin), Daniel Shettlesworth and Ruthie Shettlesworth. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
