She was predeceased by: her father John Matheny; her husband Eddie Akin, Sr.; her sister Jahna Steele; her daughter Amanda Akin; and her grandson Gavin Nichols.
She is survived by: her mother Connie Faley Matheny of Las Vegas, Nevada; her children, Kristina Martinez (Steve) of Victoria, Jessica Akin of Corpus Christi, Texas and Eddie Akin, Jr. (Susie) of Victoria, Texas; her brothers, Dan Matheny of Colorado and Tim Matheny of Arizona; and her grandchildren, Jayla, Kelsea, Brodie, Emmaleigh, Sophie, Zoey, Andrew Jr., Trey and Aaron. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of South Texas Dornburg Center.
