He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Gonzales and Carolina Vela; his son Lee Anthony Vela; and his brother Theodore Gonzales Jr.. He is survived by: his stepfather Josafat Garcia; his children, Rebecca Ball, Andy Higdon and Robert Vela Jr.; and his sisters, Celia Morales, Beatrice Deleon (Alfredo) and Theodosia Gudino. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and numerous extended family.
A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Angel Lucy's Funeral Home - Main (706 E Crestwood Dr, Victoria, TX 77901). A rosary was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (208 W River St, Victoria, TX 77901). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
