He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Guerra and Petra Salas Guerra. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Guerra of Victoria and Ernesto Guerra Jr. (Debra) of San Marcos; and his siblings, Amelia Toll (Jeffery) of Martindale, Sylvia Guerra of Luling, Mary Helen Dickson of Luling and Michael Guerra (Vanessa) of Martindale. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
