He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elzie Surratt and Katherine Surratt (Ruff); his wife Frances Nell Stephenson; his stepsons, Keith O. Plunkett (Dolly) and Karlos Plunkett (Marty) of Cache; his grandchildren, Keith Plunkett, Jr., Kim Crabtree, Kenny Plunkett, Kris Plunkett and Kevin Plunkett; and his siblings, Dorothy L. Reil and Richard Surratt. He was also cherished by seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
