He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Roten and Peggy Anderson Roten; his grandmother C. C. Anderson; his daughter Debbie Kennemer; and his brother Larry Roten.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Rayburne; his daughter Suzi Rich (Dwain) of Midlothian; his grandson Mack Kennemer of Addison; and his siblings, Robert Roten (Beth) of San Antonio and Mary Roten of San Antonio. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, countless friends and loyal dog companion, Buddy.

Despite his struggle with Parkinson's Disease, he lived his 86 years of life with dignity and honor.
