He is survived by: his wife Elaine Spence of Lindale; his children, Julie Block (Dan) of San Antonio and John Randolph Spence IV (Tammy) of Bandera; his stepchildren, Laura Toro (Rafael) of Wisconsin and David Norwood (Christine) of Katy; and his sister Deanna Wilson of New Braunfels. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and eleven nieces and nephews.
