It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Leo Golden (Van, Texas), born in Tenaha, Texas, who passed away on February 28, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Leon Golden and Vera Lee Alexander Golden. He is survived by: his wife Mary Cathryn; his children, Sandra (Don), Karen Laree (Brad) and Keith (Julie); his grandchildren, Kelli (Chris), Kory (Alesha), Kody (Brooke), Nathan, Katie and Colton; and his great grandchildren, Grace, Camille, Isaiah, Griffin, Gentri and Landry "James".

A scholarship was established in James' honor in 2010 from donations from his book, Traveling the Golden Road, an autobiography of his colorful life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the James L. Golden Scholarship Fund: First State Bank of Ben Wheeler; Attn: Lena; PO Box 97; Ben Wheeler, Texas, 75754.
