With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Dean Herrell (Van, Texas), born in Lubbock, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Dean left this world on February 20, 2025 at the age of 65, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse J. Herrell and Mary Jo Hicks Herrell. He is survived by: his wife Amy Herrell of Troup; his children, Emily Herrell of Abilene and Michael Herrell of Troup; his siblings, Doug (Joanna Herrell), Sammy Herrell of Barksdale, LA, Shawn (Nancy Herrell), Andy (Herminia Herrell) and Anna; and his brother-in-law David McLaughlin of Ft. Worth. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hilliard Funeral Home (386 N Maple St, Van, TX 75790). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at the Union Chapel Cemetery.
