It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Geraldine Kinney of Van Alstyne, Texas, born in Constantia, New York, who passed away on November 22, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald M. Kinney; her parents, Ivues Cottet and Mary Cottet; and her siblings, Ruth Warren, Ray Cottet, Royce Cottet and Rich Cottet.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kelliann, Kelli (Rusty Locke) and Kathy; her grandchildren, Kevin Simms, Jordan Locke, Brisco Schaefer (Erin), Benjamin Schaefer and Isabelle Schaefer; her great grandchildren, Natalie Simms and Leo Simms; and her siblings, Roberta Laws, Rosalyn House and Ron Cottet. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne Texas, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
