He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Benton Butterworth and Velda Douglas Butterworth; his wife Carol Cowan Butterworth; his children, Roy Benton Butterworth II of Oklahoma City, Caroline Butterworth Palmer (Doug) of San Francisco, CA and William Clinton Butterworth (Stacy) of Nashville, TN.; his grandchildren, Roy Benton Butterworth III, Nickolas, Michael Sportsman and Shelly Stapleton; his sister Barbara Cohenour of Thomasville, GA; and also Brenley Nobles. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Permanent Endowment Fund at FUMC Van Alstyne.
