He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Benson and Cora Greer Benson; his stepfather Lloyd Barnes; and his daughter Debra Jody Benson. He is survived by: his wife Jeannette Benson of Mountain Springs; his children, Xan Norris (Kevin) of Sanger, Danny Benson of Montague and Beau Benson of Early; his grandchildren, Zan Marie Baesmann (Justin), Tanner Benson, Taylor Benson and Jordan Benson; his great grandchildren, Rylee Marie, Brock Baesmann, Grace, Hudson Benson and Penelope Benson; his brothers, John Benson (Peggy) of Fredericksburg and Bruce Benson (Michelle) of Kerrville; and his brother-in-law Pat Smith (Deb) of Dawn.
