He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice N. Chaffin and Dovie B. Chaffin (Knox); his wife Thelma Ruth Ables; his siblings, Norma Lee Childers, Patsy Jones, Edith Gregory, Charlie Chaffin, Bill Chaffin and Harold Dean Chaffin; his children, Joni D. Chaffin of Garland and Jimmy Dale Chaffin of Glen Falls, NY; and his siblings, Sue Hopkins of Fort Smith, AR, Melvin Chaffin of Fort Smith, AR, Tommy Chaffin of Van Buren, AR and Doyle Chaffin (Monica) of Denton.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Collin Walker of Plano, Cameron Walker of Fairview, Chasidy Ross of Garland and Cari Cade of Gainesville; and also Chris Watson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Pioneer Baptist Church (100 Cumberland Trail, Valley View, TX 76272). A burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the New Hope Cemetery.
