He was predeceased by: his parent Alvin Hatfield. He is survived by: his parent Donna Hatfield; his wife Hyon; his daughters, Heather M. Montoya, Valerie R. Janis and Donna S. Hatfield; his grandchildren, Paige, Melina, Joseline, Brandon, Andrew, Arissa, Arianna Christian, Jawendjige, Enabaandaug, Wanikiwin, Tristan and Abram; and his siblings, Mary Shriner, Elinda Hatfield and Roger Hatfield. He is also survived by five children, his oldest son, who serves in the Army, CW3 Robert A. Hatfield; his second oldest son.
