He was predeceased by: his parents, Silverio Medina and Bernarda Mata-Medina; his brother Abundio Medina; his sons, Jesus Medina and Javier A. Hernandez; and his sister Sarita De La Cruz.
He is survived by: his wife Juana S. Medina of Uvalde; his children, Joseph Medina of San Antonio, Melissa Medina of San Antonio, Maritza Hernandez of Uvalde and Viviana M. Hernandez of Uvalde; and his sister Juanita Medina Fuentes of Eagle Pass.
