He was predeceased by: his parents, Felipa Reyes-Rodriguez and Francisco Rodriguez; his daughter Elizabeth Rodriguez; his siblings, Manuel Cruz and Ruth Herrera; and his brother-in-law Willie Herrera.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa C. Rodriguez of Uvalde; his children, Rene (Blanca Rodriguez) of Uvalde, Reynaldo (Lydia Rodriguez) of Uvalde, Esmeralda (Noe Robledo) and Ruth (Eric Rivera) of San Antonio; and his sisters, Ruby (Alfredo Cuellar) of Brownsville and Mary (Joe) of Flores. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren.
