He is survived by: his wife Erica Juarez Hurtado of Uvalde; his children, Samantha Hurtado of Uvalde, Briana Hurtado of Uvalde, Aileen Cabralez of San Antonio, Sandy Hurtado of San Antonio, Juan Jose Hurtado (Jasmine Castro) of Uvalde and Christopher Hurtado of Uvalde; his siblings, Elena Hurtado (Jose Luis Rodriguez) of San Antonio, Estella Salazar of San Antonio, Salvador Hurtado, Jr. of Uvalde and Jose Luis Hurtado of Uvalde; and his grandchildren, Annalisia Gomez, Sophia Gomez, Isaiah Gomez, Chelsea Gomez, Jennifer Hernandez and Mark Adam Arriola. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
