He was predeceased by: his father Juan Ruiz; and his brother Ruben Ruiz. He is survived by: his mother Ramona Ruiz (Ambriz) of Uvalde; his wife Anna E. Ruiz of Uvalde; his daughter Katie Nicole Ruiz (Javier A. Esparza) of Uvalde; his brothers, Richard Ruiz (Elma) of Sabinal and Roberto "Bobby" Ruiz (Cynthia) of Uvalde; and his nephews, Ruben Ruiz Jr., Ricky Ruiz Jr. and Roberto "Bobby" Ruiz Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
